The
Hotel Luna Convento Amalfi Coast was originally a
convent built in the 9th century. In the 13th
century, St. Francis of Assisi founded the graceful
cloister, where he spent many hours meditating. The
poetic atmosphere of the Luna provided inspiration
for Henrick Ibsen to write A Doll's House and
Richard Wagner to work on Parsifal. All rooms have
balconies or views overlooking the sea. The Hotel
Luna Convento is a beautiful and solid 500 year-old
building positioned over the sea. The cloister,
founded by St. Francis of Assisi in 1222, is the
very heart of the convent. It is surrounded by
cells, now provided with modern comforts, and with
a view that has no equal.
