The hotel is situated in one of Ravenna's most interesting buildings of the Renaissance period. Folklore suggests that it was the birthplace of the ill-fated mistress in Dante's Divine Comedy Francesca da Polenta, wife of Gianciotto Malatesa. Today the Cappello is the only hotel from the late 800's still operating in Ravenna. Superior rooms, some with beautiful frescoes which allow modern day visitors to relive a special atmosphere; the Ravenna of Dante and Byron and of a building which, notwithstanding the changes, jealously guards it's art treasures. The building is a perfect example of classical Venetian architecture. It is uncertain how the Hotel got it's name, the sign of a hat "Cappello" could have been a symbol of social distinction, thereby denoting a hotel for patrons belonging to the upper classes. |

Das Hotel befindet sich in einem der ältesten und historisch interessantesten Gebäude im Herzen der Stadt Ravenna. Es wurde in der Zeit der venezianischen Herrschaft (1431-1509) erbaut, und die Decken sind mit Fresken geschmückt. Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde es zu einem Gasthaus umgebaut. Seit 1998 ist es ein komfortables und charakteristisches Hotel, mit sieben eleganten Zimmern, einem Restaurant, einem Weinkeller sowie Ausstellungs- und Kongressräumen. Es gibt zwei Standardzimmer, drei Juniorsuiten und zwei Suiten. Die Räume sind elegant eingerichtet, und einige besitzen wunderschöne Fresken aus der Renaissance.Die Zimmer verfügen über: *TV *Föhn *Safe *Klimaanlage Sie alle sind sehr komfortabel. Edle Materialien in verschiedenen Farben haben ihre Fantasienamen inspiriert.

L'Hotel Cappello, se trouve dans un intéressant palais de la Renaissance à Ravenne. Selon la tradition populaire, dans ce lieu est née Francesca da Polenta, femme de Giangiotto Malatesta et malheureuse amante de la comédie de Dante. Aujourd'hiu l'Hotel Cappello est la seule maison d'hôtes à Ravenne, batî à la fin du XIX siècle et ancore en activité. Dans les chambres, decorées avec splendides fresques, les voyageurs peuvent vivre la spéciale atmosphère de Dante et Bayron. Le palais est un parfait exemple de l'architecture venetiènne classique. Nous n'avons pas des notices en ce qui concerne la denomination "Cappello".L'enseigne pouvait caractériser par classes socials; peut-être que l'auberge a été frequenté par hautes classes.

L'Albergo, occupa uno dei piu' interessanti edifici del Rinascimento a Ravenna. La tradizione popolare voleva che vi fosse nata Francesca da Polenta, moglie di Gianciotto Malatesta, la sventurata amante della commedia dantesca.Oggi il Cappello e' l'unica realta' alberghiera della fine dell'800 ancora in attivita' a Ravenna. Stanze di pregio, alcune finemente affrescate, che permettono al viaggiatore di oggi di rivivere un atmosfera particolare, quella della Ravenna di Dante e di Byron, di un edificio che nonostante i cambiamenti, custodisce gelosamente i propri tesori d'arte .L'edificio e' un perfetto esempio di architettura veneta classica. Sulla denominazione dell'albergo non si hanno notizie certe, un insegna Cappello poteva essere un segno di distinzione sociale,pertanto poteva designare un albergo i cui avventori appartenessero ad un ceto elevato.
