Cyprus's less
developed north-west coast is certainly worth a
trip. It is there that two years ago, in the
immediate vicinity of the Akamas National Park, the
Anassa luxury resort opened to offer a world full
of beauty and imagination. The resort is glorious
and regal in its setting, incorporating styles from
the island's rich cultural past, such as Hellenic
motives, Roman mosaics and Venetian frescoes.
Spread over several buildings, these elements come
together to form an inventive, artistic
architectural creation.

Set on a 21-acre site sloping
toward the sea, the Anassa resembles a typical
Cypriot village. A traditional Greek 'Ouzeri' and a
vast terraced pool area typify the resort, along
with the area's characteristic vegetation. The most
striking features of Anassa's 185 rooms, studios
and suites, which are either in the main building
or in little bungalows grouped in the gardens, are
their spaciousness and luxury. Local produce, such
as organically grown fruit and vegetables and
seafood from the bay are the prime ingredients for
the gourmet kitchen of the resort's four
restaurants, which have a tremendous
atmosphere.
