My husband and I stayed at the Agnello d'Oro for a long weekend in the middle of May. The hotel is well positioned along the main street in the Citta Alta and a short distance from the funicular which takes you down to the lower town. Our bedroom window opened out onto the street along the side of the hotel and sometimes the traffic was a little noisey as the surface is cobbled however there is not that much traffic to worry about. The hotel lived up to our expectations - the room was not huge but plenty big enough for a short stay: comfortable bed; the bathroom was a good size and everything was clean and worked (shower only, no bath). |

There are no tea/coffee making facilities so we took our own kettle but there were toiletries in the bathroom and a hairdryer. The hotel also has a lift. Our towels were changed every day despite us hanging them up and being prepared to use them again. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food. The staff were friendly and helpful - unfortunately our Italian is non-existent so communication with some members of staff was a bit hit and miss but we put that down to us being lazy and not learning Italian! Bergamo is in the centre of Lombardy, more or less 50 km from Milan. You can reach the town by motorway (A4)A or train.Orio al Serio international airport is only 5 kilometers far from the centre of the town and it is well connected by a frequent shuttle bus service.From the railway station leaves every ten minutes a bus to the funicular station (line n°1) and to the old part of the town |

Il buon pranzare e il dolce dormire in una cornice d'altri tempi. In una casa del '600, ristrutturata trent'anni or sono, sorge l'Agnello d'Oro, albergo con 20 camere dotate di telefono e tv color, alcune delle quali con balconcino sulla piazzetta che prende il nome dalla chiesa di S. Pancrazio, a fianco della casa. Nelle camere, semplici ma confortevoli, si trovano fotografie scattate dal "patron" Pino Capozzi che personalizza, oltre ai piatti della cucina, anche l'arredamento dell'albergo con immagini dai suoi viaggi e la sala ristorante con una splendida collezione di paioli, forme e maschere in rame. I piatti della cucina sono prevalentemente locali, come i casoncelli, i risotti e le foiade. |
