The former residence of a judge, Villa des
Orangers was acquired and converted into luxurious
boutique accommodation by a French husband and wife
team with an already established successful hotel
business in Paris. The style is Moorish palatial
and it has 16 rooms and suites arranged on two
levels around a pair of beautiful courtyards - one
of them filled with the eponymous orange trees, the
other lavishly decorated with lacy carved
plasterwork. All rooms have a bath and shower,
mini-bar, safe, satellite TV and phone; six suites
have private sun terraces.

All guests have access to the roof with its
plunge pool and matchless views of the nearby
Koutoubia Mosque and its landmark minaret. The
location is good - just a few minutes walk from
Jemaa El Fna, the old city's central square.
Befitting its status as one of the few "Relais et
Chateaux" hotels in Morocco, the service and
attention to detail is outstanding.

Villa des Orangers has an additional adjoining
courtyard with three more luxurious garden suites
overlooking a large pool (48 x 12 ft) and gardens.
Each of these suites has a living room and bedroom
with fireplace, bath and shower, small dressing
room with double vanity facilities, plasma screen
TV, CD and DVD player, internet connection, safe
and mini-bar.

... the Villa Des Orangers was a complete
delight. It is quite the most stunningly beautiful
place we have ever stayed in (and we have stayed in
some pretty swanky places around the globe over the
years). The Riad itself is just breathtakingly
gorgeous, the decor and the ambience of the place
is just so magical. The staff couldn't have been
more delightful, each one of them offering a
discreet and charming service, nothing was too much
trouble. A. J., Feb 05

We were really very impressed with Villa des
Orangers. The riad is absolutely stunning, as were
our rooms. My wife & I stayed in the new
central garden suite and it was also beautifully
appointed. The staff were incredibly friendly and
helpful, without any trace of that traditional
French hauteur you often find at some French
hotels. I really could not rate their service
highly enough. Living in Dubai we have become used
to exceptional service, but what impressed me most
at Orangers was their genuine friendliness. We
shall definitely be going back, and look forward to
more leisurely games of cards in that stunning
courtyard! D., Apr 04
