The scenery here is of great natural beauty and a subtle ruined fascination, the road passing under the archway of buildings dating from 1875 - still splendid despite its state of abandon . Descending from Ingurtosu toward the valley floor, 7 Kilometres of track wind between perfumed woods of lentisk and juniper, punctuated by abandoned mining structures. The last few Kilometres of the track still conserved traces of the old railway, allowing glimpses of the original wooden sleepers and slabs of granite. The hotel is a restored 19th Century mining structure which was used a depository for the lead-bearing mineral galena, and sphalerite ( a form of zinc sulphide). These minerals arrived in wagons from the working higher up the valley The complex was declared a national monument in 1985 by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and consists of three main wings around an internal courtyard, and a small piazza open to the sea. The first section, once the galena depository, has been turned into the restaurant, bar, conference room and guest room. The central section, where ponies were used for pulling wagons up to the mines, which were once the stables, now it contains 10 double rooms with an suite and bathrooms, while the largest wing, once a depository for sphalerite, now contains the lounge, 15 double rooms with an suite and bathrooms ( some also with sitting rooms), a bar and a long, cool entrance gallery in schist stone which stretches the lenght of the sectio Scendere per i tornanti di una stradina bianca, intorno colate grigie e casupole fatiscenti, la miniera abbandonata di Ingurtusu; e poi ancora boschi, il guado di un ruscello, e trovarsi all'improvviso davanti a dune bianchissime e imponenti. Lo scenario è di grande bellezza naturalistica e di un fascino sottile e struggente che si avverte intensamente allorquando si passa sotto l'arco di un Palazzo del 1875, splendido pur nel suo stato di abbandono. Proseguendo da Ingurtosu e scendendo verso il fondovalle, si percorrono 7 Km. di strada bianca tra boschi di lecci e profumati ginepri, puntellati da costruzioni minerarie abbandonate che colpiscono la fantasia del viaggiatore evocando immagini fantastiche di tempi passati. Gli ultimi Km. di strada conservano le tracce di un'antica ferrovia laddove la terra battuta lascia intravedere le traversine in legno e le lastre di granito del vecchio tracciato. L'albergo è stato ricavato da una struttura mineraria ottocentesca dove venivano depositati i minerali di blenda e galena, trasportati con i vagoni dalle laverie di Naracauli, cantiere di Ingurtosu.
