The weather has left its mark on
this corner of Sardinia: the splendid Gulf of
Orosei, which has been moulded over the course of
thousands of years by the wind and the sea. The
north-eastern part of Sardinia is one of the most
unspoilt natural environments in Europe. We are in
Cala Gonone, where you will be embraced by the vast
array of colours and fragrances of the
Mediterranean landscape. This beautiful cove
nestles between other reefs and dominates the sea.
From the tourist port, by boat or dinghy, you can
reach secluded creeks, isolated beaches, and marine
grottoes. Inland you will discover a unique
environment, full of opportunity for adventurous
excursions: explore the fjords, basaltic rocks and
grottoes.

Between the hinterland and the
sea there is a rich archaeological heritage which
merits exploring. "Nuraghi" (prehistoric circular
fortified dwellings), Nuragic villages, dolmen
(megalithic tombs), the Torre dei Giganti (the
Giants' Tower) and the Domus de Janas, are all
enchanting and mysterious testimonies of the
ancient history of this island. Surrounded by the
lush greenery of this Mediterranean location, in a
panoramic position facing out onto the Gulf of
Orosei, with a 360-degree view of the beach and the
sea. There are 300 comfortable bedrooms with 2, 3
or 4 beds (all with private WC and shower, and
telephone), and 30 apartments (one, two or
three-roomed) with open-plan kitchenette, private
WC and shower, and telephone.

The vast sand
and shingle beach is 400 metres from the village
and can be reached by the two gently descending
stairways down to the sea, or by shuttle bus. At
your disposal there is a beach bar, deckchairs, sun
umbrellas and sports equipment. The three large
dining rooms, all with ventilation, overlook the
garden and the swimming pools, and serve Italian
dishes, traditional local specialities and tempting
barbecues with meat and fish dishes.
