Villa Favorita was established in the early '800, as a big wine factory by Salvatore Amodeo, and soon became an usual and refined place of meeting of Sicilian intellectuals and aristocrats. By an expert and conservative restoration that has been going on for 30 years now, it has become an integrating part of the artistic and cultural patrimony of the town of Marsala. Now, with its 30.000 mq., 10.000 of which are inside and taking into account the present needs, it has kept its own architectonic structure. It is 2 km far from town centre and 5 km from Mozia isle and from Ettore and Infersa salt pans. It is an a good position to let the guests do convenient excursions to Erice, Selinunte, Segesta, Agrigento, San Vito lo Capo, Scopello and to the natural reserve of Zingaro. Easy to reach by motor-ship, hydrofoil or ferry-boat, are the Egadi isles (Favignana, Marettimo and Levanzo). |
