Read's Hotel & Spa--This grand 17th-century
Mallorcan manor house is set in the heart of the
island's rolling countryside and yet is a mere
20-minute drive from the action of Palma.

It has acres of manicured grounds
with stunning views of the nearby Tramuntana
mountain range, several communal lounge areas, and
a conservatory bar. Bedrooms are individually
decorated in various lavish themes, including a
Sultan's Suite, which has brightly colored walls
and Moroccan furniture. Fourteen of the 23 rooms
have private terraces, and all are fully equipped
with Bang & Olufsen LCD TVs, as well as DVD and
CD players. But it's really the added extras that
make Read's so special, and these days it's as much
a destination hotel for gastronomy as it is for the
luxe factor.

Chef Mark Fosh's superb Michelin-starred
restaurant, with its yawning arches and whimsical
trompe l'oeil murals of Greek and Roman gods, is
one of the best restaurants on the island (typical
dishes include pan-fried sea bass served over
pureed potatoes with anchovies, licorice, and lemon
juice, topped with a spoonful of frothy tomato
fondue), while Bistro 33, situated in the old olive
press, offers a more low-key menu of island country
cooking. A spa (opened in May 2007) offers herbal
steam rooms and hydrotherapy as well as a VIP suite
for couples.

Desplácese
hasta Santa María y, luego, justo en la
carretera vieja de Alaró encontrará
una fantástica posesión rodeada de
grandes extensiones de césped y
espectaculares jardines. En 1988, un abogado de
Londres, Vivian Read, compró Ca'n Moragues,
una casa señorial ubicada en Santa
María, Mallorca. La reformó y la
convirtió en un hotel rural. Después
de seis años de esfuerzo su proyecto,
finalmente, terminó. La casa en sí es
una pieza de arte. Los muros de sus paredes
están decorados con frescos; sus
habitaciones son una mezcla piezas
contemporáneas y antiguas.

Un espectáculo para
cualquier visitante.A tan sólo 20 minutos
del aeropuerto de Palma, en coche o en tren,
encontramos esta posesión rodeada de 20.00m2
de maravillosos jardines, una piscina interior
climatizada de100m2, sauna, , solarium, gimnasio,
Jacuzzi y 200m2 de terrazas y piscina exterior.El
hotel también dispone de dos restaurantes
abiertos diariamente al público.
