If there is anything that defines the personality of the Rioja Alavessa region then it is the production of wine, so those who enjoy a good tipple and fine food will find this excellent 19th century cellar hard to beat. The art of the vine is ever present here. Even the rooms are named after a particular type of grape. Though these are placed along a hotel like corridor, all are bright, spacious and blessed with some lovely touches. Visitors can also go on guided tours of the cellars and have the opportunity of taking wine-tasting courses. |

Once in the "Bodega" don't forget to check out the huge Fresco of Dionysus along the cellar wall. Other comforts include the living room furnished with interesting antiques pieces, fine little bar and library. This sum of great wine, food, lovely rooms and decor makes for a winning combination and it comes as no surprise that the Don Cosme Palacio is widely considered to be one of the best "bodegas" in the region. Wer einen guten Tropfen und feines Essen schätzt, wird kaum etwas besseres als diesen wundervollen Weinkeller aus dem 19. Jhdt. finden. Die Kunst rund um den Wein ist hier allgegenwärtig, und sogar die einzelnen Räume tragen die Namen von Rebsorten. Die Gästezimmer sind, wie in einem Hotel, an einen langen Korridor gereiht und alle sehr hell, geräumig und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. |
