The villa is situated on the gentle slopes of the Tiber valley at the border between Tuscany and Umbria. It can be reached by car from Rome airport in about 3 hours. A walled park with mature trees and its own vineyard surround the estate, offering great privacy. Its guests can admire the valley, the superb view of the town of Sansepolcro, birthplace of Piero della Francesca, and the "Alpe della Luna" mountains. It is very close to Anghiari, Caprese Michelangelo (the artist's birthplace), and Monterchi, towns of artistic and historical interest.

They all boast great a number of excellent and traditional Tuscan restaurants for all tastes. One hour away by car are the towns of Arezzo, Cortona, Assisi, Gubbio, Perugia, Spoleto and Urbino each offering more art and history as well as more local wines and food of high standard. Florence, Siena and the Republic of San Marino are one and half-hours by car, as is the Rimini coast, where one can experience Italian seafood. |

Die Villa "La Castellaccia" entstand um das Jahr 1000; einziges Zeugnis aus diesr Zeit ist der zentrale Turm, um den sich in den darauf folgenden Jahren der gesamte Bau entwickelt hat. Gewiss ist das Jahr 1614, in welchem der Zentralbau und die beiden Seitenflügel, entstanden. Zeugnis davon gibt das schöne Portal des Haupteinganges. Im Innern, im Erdgeschoss befindet sich die Privatkapelle, die um das Jahr 1700, erbaut wurde mit einem Altarbild, welches der "schwarzen Madonna von Loreto" gewidmet wurde. Die Villa befindet sich in der Mitte eines herrlichen Parkes welcher von jahrhunderte alten Bäumen umringt ist. Die gesamte Anlage ist von fruchtbaren Feldern und schattigen Wäldern umgeben; ist ca. 150.000 qm gross und ist im Privatbesitz des Herrn Aloigi Luzzi. Die Innenstruktur der Villa "La Castellaccia" ist über Jahrhunderte hindurchunveränder geblieben, besitzt also noch ihre originale Architektur. |

Die Charakteristiken dieser Epoche sind; grosse Zimmer mit bogenförmigen Decken (Segelform, von 4 bis 7 m), mit Fresken verzierten Galerien und sehr viel Platz. Die Einrichtung besteht aus Stilmöbeln und alle Zimmer sind perfekt möbliert.Sportler können in der Nähe viele Sportarten treiben. Am wunderschönen See "Montedoglio" kann man Segeln, Windsurf und Kanu fahren. Reitplatz in der Nähe. Der Antognolla Golf & Country Club ist ca. 40 km entfernt, und bietet denen, die den Golf-Sport lieben, ein Erlebnis mit "18 Loechern". Für Trekking Liebhaber gibt es in den nahen Bergen unzählige Wanderwege die genau bezeichnet sind. Das Schwimmbad hat eine Größe von 5x10 m und erlaubt eine wunderschöne Aussicht auf das Tal von Sansepolcro. |
