Casamora's houses equipped
for tourist hospitality are the result of a
carefully considered restoration project that
confers both contemporary appeal and maximum
comfort on the ancient structures, which were
originally farm dwellings. All the villas, whose
names come from the trees in front of them, are
arranged around the main piazza, once the centre of
life of the old village and today a meeting place
for the guests at Casamora. All the
houses/apartments have been furnished mixing the
original elements of the property, such as family
paintings and furniture appropriately restored,
with objects of contemporary design, some of which
were designed specifically by Maurizio Montani
della Fargna to give a unique personality and
functionality to each house. Guests of Casamora can
make use of the various common areas as well as the
library, the exhibition area, the swimming pool and
tennis court.

Close to the areas
furnished for hospitality, enjoyment, socialising,
cultural activities, areas conceived of as though
they were the pedestrian streets of the towns of
the Valdarno, there are four suites arranged around
the porticoed courtyard. The names of these
"ladies" are meant to pay homage to the female
figures that have most determined the history of
this family's life: Donna Olimpia Boncambji della
Genga, Donna Maria Piccolomini, Donna Luisa
Caetani, Donna Matilde Visconti di Modrone. The
suites are planned as a single space divided into
three areas: the bedroom, the sitting room and the
bathroom - and are also equipped with central
heating and air-conditioning. These suites, which
can also be used for short stays are attractively,
decorated with pictures and antique
furniture.

The old woodwork shop, no
longer in use, inspired the idea of a private
library for Casamora. The new project, currently
underway, proposes a reference library on the
ground floor and a multi-media gallery on the upper
level, and aims at a social structure that combines
the world of books to that of computer technology.
The Casamora Library project faithfully adheres to
the Unesco Program of 1994. As a place of learning,
with easy access, it will represent an area for
socializing and cultural intercourse and has also
been planned to house exhibitions. The building of
the upper level of the library

In 1998 some of the vines
where transplanted to concentrate more resources on
the olive oil venture, and because the production
of wine was characterized by a standardized quality
that had little to do with the natural terrain. The
vines that remain continue the ancient family
tradition of the production of vinsanto. Vinsanto
Casamora, made from Trebbiano, Malvasia and White
Canaiolo grapes, matures over a eight year period
(only then it is bottled). One might think it is
just another ordinary Vinsanto - not at all! This
Vinsanto distinguishes itself from the others,
which are often heavy and hard to digest, and is a
fitting dessert wine for connoisseurs.

It is celebrated for its
lightness and finesse, not for potency, density or
high sugar content. Its elegant and delicate flavor
is directly related to the great care with which it
is handled during the long production process in
Fattoria Casamora. Only the best grapes are used:
selected manually, separated from the pedicle, and
finally pressed to obtain the must, which is then
filtered naturally and stored in oak barrels at
Fattoria Casamora. This gives the Vinsanto Casamora
its unique quality.
