The Castello Banfi vineyard estate in
Montalcino, Tuscany, will host a premier four-day
culinary expedition for guests of its luxury rooms
and suites, set for October 28-31 and November
25-28, 2007. Heinz Beck, Rome's only Michelin
three-star chef and one of only five in Italy, will
host customized cooking classes, to be complemented
by wine tastings and visits to artisan food
producers and markets. A few spaces remain for
guests who wish to participate in this unique
experience.

Beck at Banfi, as the
luxury cultural travel package is being called, is
limited to no more than fourteen people. It will
include three nights at the recently opened
Castello Banfi - Il Borgo, fourteen rooms and
suites in the 17th century hamlet nestled alongside
the medieval fortress, vineyard tours and wine
tastings by Castello Banfi winemakers and
sommeliers, lunches and dinners at the estate's
informal Taverna Banfi and other charming local
restaurants, culminating in dinner at the Michelin
star rated Castello Banfi - Il Ristorante. The
group will then travel to Rome for an overnight
stay at the stellar Cavalieri Hilton Hotel, perched
atop Monte Mario with breathtaking views of the
eternal city, and a farewell dinner by Chef Beck at
his own La Pergola rooftop garden.

Il Borgo, comfortable and
charmingly elegant hospitality awaits guests
touring the breathtaking wine country of southern
Tuscany. Our guest rooms and suites are built
inside the stone houses forming the 18th century
hamlet aside the walls and towers of the
Castello.

Along both sides of the
sloping village street, the exteriors of the
luxurious accommodations reflect the architectural
beauty and heritage of a Tuscan past, while the
interiors have been carefully structured to offer
the comforts of a sophisticated home. Shaded
entries from the quaint terraced street walkways
lead to private hideaways handsomely decorated by
Federico Forquet, Italy's eminent
designer.
