La Locanda di San Francesco occupies what was once the Oratorio di Sant'Emidio e della Misericordia, rising above the ancient city walls that surround the oldest part of Montepulciano. It is attached to the 14th century church of Saint Francis and dominates the square of the same name.Careful restoration, commissioned and supervised with great passion by the present owners, has brought to life the historic gothic portal of the church, secret rooms and ancient bell towers, giving new life to the building and the whole square.On request guests can arrange private visits, wine and food specialty tastings to the Tenuta Valdipiatta winery, producer of Nobile di Montepulciano wine and other prestigious red wines.Off-site laundry services.
